Do I need a SWMS for truck speed management?
Only if the driving is part of high risk construction work, for example on a site where powered mobile plant is moving. Managing speed for freight and delivery driving isn't construction work, so a SWMS isn't a legal requirement, but you still have to manage speed as a risk, and a SWMS is a practical way to record how. Clients and prequalification portals often ask for one.
Does it cover speed limiters?
Yes. Its maintenance activity covers vehicles not fitted with speed limiting devices, and poorly maintained vehicles that may not be safe at the speed the driver thinks is safe.
Can I change it?
