Common questions
Do I need a SWMS for operating a Dingo?
A SWMS is legally required when the job is high risk construction work, for example work in an area with movement of powered mobile plant, trenching deeper than 1.5 metres, or digging near energised underground cables or gas mains. Outside those situations a SWMS isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and a SWMS is a sound way to record how. Clients, builders and prequalification portals often ask for one either way.
Does it cover underground services?
Yes. It covers striking a live cable, gas main or water main with the auger or trencher, and the operator being crushed between the machine and a wall, fence, vehicle or trench edge when it reverses.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
