This Concrete Nail Gun Risk Assessment/JSA (Job Safety Analysis) is pre-filled and covers fixing into concrete with a powder actuated or gas actuated nail gun. It sets out 6 activities, from unloading and setting up equipment to post-use maintenance, cartridge disposal and emergency response, with the hazards, control measures and risk ratings before and after controls for each. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.
Who it's for
Builders, carpenters and formworkers
Shopfitters and interior fit-out crews
Electricians, plumbers and data cablers fixing into concrete
Ceiling and partition installers
It also works as a written task risk assessment for any business where workers use a concrete nail gun, the same way you'd use a JSA or Safe Work Procedure.
A risk assessment, also called a JSA, JSEA or task risk assessment, records the hazards of a task and how you control them. If the task is part of high risk construction work, the law requires a SWMS for that work, so use our Concrete Nail Gun SWMS instead.

Common questions
Do I need a SWMS or a risk assessment for using a concrete nail gun?
A SWMS is legally required when the job is high risk construction work, for example fixing from a platform where someone could fall more than 2 metres, near energised electrical installations, or where powered mobile plant is moving. Otherwise a SWMS isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and a risk assessment or JSA is a practical way to record how. Head contractors and prequalification portals often ask for one either way. If the job is high risk construction work, use our Concrete Nail Gun SWMS instead.
Does it cover operator competency?
Yes. It requires the operator to hold a current certificate of competency for the specific tool, issued by the manufacturer or an accredited trainer, plus any operator authorisation your state or territory requires. The certificate is sighted before work starts.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
