Common questions
Do I need a SWMS for fire rating of services?
A SWMS is legally required when the work is high risk construction work, for example where someone could fall more than 2 metres from an EWP or into a riser, or near energised electrical services. Outside those situations it isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and a SWMS is a sound way to record how. Builders and prequalification portals often ask for one either way.
Does it cover fire system isolations?
Yes. It covers isolating and reinstating fire detection and suppression, including the risk of systems left isolated after the work and unwanted alarms from dust or hot work.
Can I change it?
