Common questions
Do I need a SWMS for pool fencing?
Installing a pool fence is construction work. A SWMS is legally required when it is high risk construction work, for example working beside a pool where there is a risk of drowning, or beside an empty pool shell where a fall could be more than 2 metres. Builders and principal contractors usually ask for one either way.
Does it check the barrier meets the pool fencing rules?
It includes a barrier check before handover against AS 1926.1 and the building requirements where you work, covering gate swing, self-closing and self-latching, gaps and non-climbable zones. It doesn't replace the pool barrier inspection or certificate your state or council requires.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
