This Chemical Dilution & Dispensing SOP (Safe Operating Procedure) shows your team how to dilute and dispense cleaning chemicals safely at the point of use. It covers SDS checks, dosing equipment and manual measuring to get the right ratio, adding concentrate to water, never mixing products such as bleach with acids or ammonia, labelling spray and trigger bottles, and isolating a faulty dosing unit. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.

Common questions
Does it cover dosing systems and manual mixing?
Yes. It covers both metered dosing or dispensing systems and manual measuring with a calibrated measuring device, following the SDS or product label ratio.
Does it cover chemical store management?
No. Bulk storage, segregation and spill response in a chemical store, and carrying chemicals in a work vehicle, are covered by separate procedures.
Is a P2 mask enough protection?
No. The SOP notes a P2 mask protects against particulates only. Where the SDS calls for a gas or vapour filter or supplied air, workers don't dispense until it is available and fitted.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any step, check or hazard, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
