This Line Marking Risk Assessment/JSA (Job Safety Analysis) is pre-filled for setting out, painting and removing line marking on roads, car parks and other surfaces. It covers 19 activities, from arriving at the work area and traffic management to removing old lines and emergency response, with the hazards, control measures and risk ratings before and after controls for each. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.

Common questions
Do I need a SWMS or a risk assessment for line marking?
A SWMS is legally required when the job is high risk construction work, for example line marking on or next to a road in use, or in an area where powered mobile plant is moving. Outside those situations a SWMS isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and a risk assessment or JSA is a practical way to record how. Councils, head contractors and prequalification portals often ask for one either way. If the job is high risk construction work, use our Line Marking SWMS instead.
Does it cover removing old line marking?
Yes. It covers respirable crystalline silica from grinding, shot blasting or scarifying the road surface, and lead and chromate exposure from removing old road paint and thermoplastic.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
