Common questions
Do I need a SWMS for tile roof installation and repair?
A SWMS is legally required when the job is high risk construction work, for example tile roof work with a risk of a fall of more than 2 metres, a re-roof likely to disturb asbestos, or work near energised overhead powerlines. Most tile roof work carries a fall risk of more than 2 metres, so most jobs will need one. Where a job genuinely falls outside those situations, you still have to manage the risks, and a SWMS is a sound way to record how. Head contractors and prequalification portals often ask for one either way.
Does it cover short repair jobs and call-outs?
Yes. It has a separate activity for repair, call-out and minor works such as a slipped tile, a leak trace or a broken cap, so fall protection isn't skipped because the job will only take a few minutes.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
