This Graffiti Removal SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement) is pre-filled and covers removing graffiti with chemical removers, high pressure water and abrasive methods, then recoating the treated surface. It covers 23 activities, from approvals and surface assessment to wash water disposal, demobilisation and emergency response, with the hazards, control measures and risk ratings before and after controls for each. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.
Who it's for
Graffiti removal and anti-graffiti coating businesses
Commercial cleaning and pressure washing contractors
Council and public asset maintenance crews
Facilities and property maintenance contractors
Painters who remove graffiti and recoat surfaces
A SWMS isn't only for construction. Plenty of cleaning and maintenance businesses use one as the written risk assessment for a task, the same way others use a JSA or Safe Work Procedure.

Common questions
Do I need a SWMS for graffiti removal?
Only if the job is high risk construction work, for example removing graffiti from an EWP or scaffold where someone could fall more than 2 metres, working beside a road in use, or cleaning near energised electrical installations. Outside those situations a SWMS isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and a SWMS is a sound way to record how. Councils, clients and prequalification portals often ask for one.
Does it cover high pressure water injection injuries?
Yes. It covers fluid injection from the jet, hose whip and coupling failure, flying debris and scalding, plus the emergency response to an injection injury.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
