This Mobile Scaffold Erection & Inspection SOP (Safe Operating Procedure) gives your team a clear, step-by-step method for erecting, inspecting, using and dismantling wheeled mobile aluminium scaffold towers. It covers ground and component checks, base-to-height ratios and outriggers, building the tower from the inside, guardrails and toe boards, locking castors, moving the tower safely and inspection tagging before each use. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.

Common questions
Does it cover fixed or static scaffolding?
No. It covers wheeled mobile aluminium scaffold towers only. Fixed, suspended and cantilevered scaffolding and trestle-and-plank platforms aren't covered.
Does it include licence requirements?
Yes. Where there's a risk of a person or object falling more than 4 metres from the scaffold, the SOP states the work must only be erected, altered or dismantled by someone holding a High Risk Work (scaffolding) licence.
Do I still need a SWMS for scaffold work?
Possibly. This SOP sets out how to erect and use a mobile tower safely and supports training and sign-off. If the work is also high risk construction work, you'll need a SWMS for the job as well.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any step, check or hazard, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
