How far does the ladder need to extend above the roof?
The SOP requires the ladder to reach at least 1 metre above the landing point, such as the roof edge or gutter, so workers have something to hold during the transition.
Can I tie the ladder to the gutter?
No. The ladder must be tied to a fixed structural point capable of supporting it, not to guttering or fascia alone, and the base must also be secured.
Can I change it?
