This Post Setting & Concreting SOP (Safe Operating Procedure) gives your team a clear method for positioning, plumbing, bracing and concreting fence posts into already bored holes. It covers checking the hole, barricading open holes, lowering and plumbing posts, fitting temporary bracing, mixing bagged rapid-set or wet mix concrete with less dust, placing and sloping concrete, cleaning cement off skin and leaving bracing in place until the concrete has cured. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.

Common questions
Does it cover digging the post hole?
No. Boring, digging or augering the hole is covered by a separate post hole boring procedure. This SOP starts with an already bored hole.
Does it cover rapid-set concrete?
Yes. It covers mixing and placing bagged rapid-set concrete or wet mix concrete, as well as finishing and curing.
When can the bracing come off?
Only once the concrete has reached enough strength to hold the post unsupported. Until then, bracing stays in place and the hole stays barricaded.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any step, check or hazard, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
