This CCTV Drain Inspection SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement) is pre-filled and covers inspecting drains and sewers with push rod and crawler cameras, including high pressure jetting to clear the line. It sets out the hazards, control measures and risk ratings before and after controls for 24 activities, from job planning and confined space assessment to reinstating covers and emergency response. It's written by WHS specialists, aligned to Australian WHS legislation, and fully editable in Microsoft Word.
Who it's for
Plumbers and drainers who inspect lines
CCTV drain inspection and pipe locating businesses
Drain cleaning and jetting contractors
Council and facilities maintenance crews
A SWMS isn't only for construction sites. Plenty of drainage businesses use one as the written risk assessment for a task, the same way others use a JSA or Safe Work Procedure.

Common questions
Do I need a SWMS for CCTV drain inspection?
Only if the job is high risk construction work, for example working on or next to a road in use, entering a maintenance hole that is a confined space, or working near a shaft deeper than 1.5 metres. Otherwise a SWMS isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and a SWMS is a sound way to record how. Clients, councils and prequalification portals often ask for one.
Does it cover cross-bored gas services?
Yes. It covers the risk of the camera striking a gas or telecommunications service that has been directionally bored through the drain, which can release gas into the building.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any hazard, control or rating, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
