Do I need a SWMS for plumbing, drainage and roof repairs?
Often, yes. A SWMS is legally required for high risk construction work, and this work regularly qualifies, for example roof work with a fall risk over 2 metres, trenches deeper than 1.5 metres, or work likely to disturb asbestos cement. Where none of those apply a SWMS isn't mandatory, but you still have to manage the risks, and clients and head contractors often ask for one either way.
