Common questions
What happens to food and ice near a breakage?
All food, drink, ice and food-contact surfaces within the breakage zone are treated as contaminated, disposed of and not returned to service.
Does it cover windows and mirrors?
No. Installing, repairing or replacing windows, mirrors and other building glazing is covered by a separate glazing installation procedure. It does include the emergency response to a large breakage such as a shattered window or mirror.
Can a vacuum cleaner be used on broken glass?
Only one rated for glass and sharps. The SOP sets out a stiff broom or brush, dustpan and designated glass waste container, never bare hands.
Can I change it?
Yes. It's a Microsoft Word file, so you can add, remove or change any step, check or hazard, and add your own logo and details.
Does it suit my state?
Yes. It's written to the model WHS laws and suits all states and territories, including Victoria under the OHS Act and Regulations.
What if it doesn't suit my work?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee if it isn't fit for purpose.
