Do I need a SWMS for tip truck work?
Only when the work is high risk construction work, for example tipping on a construction site where powered mobile plant is moving, near energised overhead powerlines, or next to a road in use. Carting material between suppliers and depots isn't construction work, so a SWMS isn't mandatory there, but you still have to manage risks like rollover and powerline contact, and a SWMS is a practical way to record how. Clients, head contractors and prequalification portals often ask for one.
Does it cover tipping near overhead powerlines?
Yes. It covers the raised body contacting overhead powerlines when unloading, along with sideways rollover, being crushed by a body coming down, and driving off with the body up.
