Truck Pre-Start Checklist
 
A daily pre-start check for rigid trucks, prime movers, tippers, and tray or crane trucks, so defects are found before the truck leaves the yard.
 
What's included
Truck details, site and last service date
A weekly operator log for Monday to Sunday
Before starting checks: tyres and wheels, lights and indicators, mirrors and windscreen, fluids, air system, couplings, body, tray and tailgate, load restraint, safety equipment and documents
After starting checks: gauges and warning lights, air pressure build-up, service and park brakes, steering, horn, reversing alarm, camera and beacon, and tipper, crane or tailgate controls
A faults and tag-out log so a faulty machine is taken out of use until it is repaired
A one-page instruction sheet with step-by-step guidance and tips

When a driver takes over a pool or hire truck
After a defect has been repaired
